I’ve always had a deep interest in astrology. Over the years, I’ve studied it on my own, often whenever I had spare moments and it’s something I still find myself immersing in from time to time. I believe that astrology is something we can all learn through our own charts and personal experiences. It seems like something that should be accessible to everyone, something we should naturally understand, or am I wrong to think that? I’ve had two small readings in my life, but I’ve always felt uncomfortable seeking out astrologers. I’ve been a bit skeptical of what others might say, and I’ve often felt the need to research it further on my own, sometimes to a deep extent.
To me, the most important aspect of astrology is understanding our own charts and finding meaning through personal exploration. Rather than relying on others to interpret our lives, I think it’s empowering to study astrology, engage with the research, and then connect it to our own experiences. Ultimately, we are the ones who hold our own charts and have the deepest connection to them.
It really seems the view on astrology is somewhat changing, it has been misunderstood by many and still is. The world lost touch with it as it became just a horoscope in the paper, and worse only a sun sign to go by. Of course, a high percentage of people probably will not relate. A lot of people still think that it is just the sun that astrologers look at, and most of the people I meet only seem to know their sun sign and have no idea about their moon, ascendent, or other planets.
It is best that people do not follow astrology blindly to make up their life choices, life is in our own hands. Knowing astrology is only a small part of the biggest picture. How does one understand the whole picture without considering the details it took to create it, we cannot see what happens before a photo is taken, we only see the final result, but for that result to happen things had to happen before.
For example, The fruits on a tree are there and visible, but what about all those roots under the ground we cannot see? Some of us have a great urge to uncover these hidden sources for further understanding of the whole and some will just be interested in the fruit and not question how it really came to grow there, but the reality is there are hundreds of aspects from roots to environment which play a part in the final result.
Astrology has had its fair share of laughs and like many other things, still does. But understanding that is all part of it, we all need a good debate in the end. It would be boring if at this moment we were all only into one thing, with so much to learn more about. I use to be quite dismissive of things I found really uninteresting, such as science fiction, but when I started working from home I came to bring myself to give a science fiction film a watch and I enjoyed it, I couldn't believe how much I had been missing out on by dismissing it all the time. It was a shock because I really thought I could never get into it, it was more than a pleasant surprise when I did and it made me think what else I haven't given a chance.
I guess it would be true to say, as humans we can brush off or make fun of things we don't understand or relate to, but after coming to realise just that we open a new part of us we never really knew.
At some point, we may come to understand something in a new light, one which we never thought we would and it’ll provoke other thoughts you never thought you would think.
When I really took the time to look into other forms of astrology, I discovered it to be the most intriguing topic I have yet to come across.
Now, with the internet, everything has changed. It’s become a powerful tool for sharing information, freely exchanging, debating, correcting. It’s not only become more appealing and easy to use, it's also opened new doors to a wealth of old and new knowledge that would have been impossible to share so easily in the past. This has been a huge boost for astrology, allowing for deeper research and greater understanding. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see scientists and astrologers collaborating, or perhaps that’s just my imagination running a bit too far now.
We are all into different things which is what makes part of this world most worthy for us, with so much to learn from one another. We humans are full of curiosity and are all in some way trying to comprehend what on earth we are all doing here. I too understand some are just trying to survive and there is much to be improved in terms of a more humane life for all living things.
The world is far from perfect, and we all know this. I think most of us wish for a better, fairer world, but do we truly share the same vision of what “perfect” looks like? Not always. We each go through our own lessons in life, some that feel right, and others deeply unfair. Do we find beauty in it all? I guess in the end, we have no choice but to, even in our mistakes.
We learn from experience, often in the deepest ways. We face hardships, and while they may manifest differently for each of us, they ultimately teach us how to prevent them in the future. How can we know what works or what’s truly right if we haven’t fully experienced life in all its forms? This journey takes time, more time than we often realise, and there’s no need to rush. After all, we’ve barely begun to grasp our fullest potential.
I’ve come to realise that I do like astrology but what I enjoy more is understanding why it all works the way it does. It is quite the mixture of psychology, science, maths and philosophy. It has done well to provoke my thoughts and opened a new way of thinking but more importantly, it has given me an endless source of interesting observations to think about.
